Beach vacation home rentals may not be the cheapest travel option, but they’re well worth the investment. Believe it or not, vacation is actually good for your health, so money invested in luxury vacation rentals is money well spent well.
Don’t believe it? Consider the following.
- Vacations can help prevent heart attacks. Seriously. One study found that women who vacationed only every six years or so had a significantly higher risk of developing a heart attack or coronary death in comparison with women who went on vacation at least twice a year. Granted, that’s about 11 more vacations between the two groups, but the point still stands.
- Vacations can also lower your risk of heart disease, too, believe it or not. One study on traveling found that men who didn’t go on an annual vacation had a 20% higher risk of death and a 30% greater risk of death from heart disease. In other words, penny pinching on your vacations could literally be killing you.
- The benefits of going on vacation are almost immediate, one study found. Nearly nine in 10 people (89%) experienced significant drops in stress after just a day or two of vacation.
- Travel has been shown to actually help people suffering from depression. What’s more, the same study also found that 59% of Americans dream of traveling during their retirement, and that the most impactful trips are those spent with family and friends, so it only makes sense that traveling can help people overcome depression.
And if none of that is enough to convince you that vacation rentals are a wise investment, here’s one last fact for you: studies show that money spent on travel makes a person happier than money spent on material goods, Forbes reports.
So what do you say? Think beach vacation rentals aren’t all that great of a way to spend your vacation savings? Why not book one of the many beach vacation rentals out there and find out?
